Preparing the puppies

I do my very best to prepare my puppies for normal family environment and activities, for their future live with their new families.

When the puppies reach 3 weeks of age, I move them from their "birth-room" into the living room where they are exposed to sounds like vacuum cleaner, microwave oven, television and noises from my family, guests, and my grandchildren who often come to visit and like nothing more than to cuddle and play with the puppies.

From around 3 weeks I also start with "car-training". I try to take the puppies with me on a short ride in the car each day or every other day, to make them used to riding in a car.

Traveling will probably be a big part of their everyday life with their new owner, and making them used to sitting in a car from young age makes them feel more comfortable with it, and hopfully enjoy the ride instead of being sick.
The car training involves taking them to visit friends and family, and even to the kinder garden to pick up my grandchildren. I keep on with this car training until they move to their new families.
